From opulent two million dollar land yachts and Airstream based luxury hotel rooms to a beachside RV park in northwest Florida and a vintage RV rally in Newport Dunes, California, Beach n RVs took viewers on "the ultimate tour of America's hottest RV spots."According to the Travel Channel show, well heeled RVers in search of an ultra luxe glamping experience head for the Orange Beach based Heritage Motor Coach Resort Marina on Alabama's Emerald Coast where RV sites will run you a cool $200 500k. Not only does this small chunk of change buy you a parking spot but your lot also includes a luxury coach house and boat slip plus access to a range of luxury amenities. "You have these high net worth individuals who travel around in these motorhomes that are valued at over a million dollars," said Duke Gibbs, founder of the resort. "We wanted to create an environment and an atmosphere and a resort that matched the level of the lifestyle that they are used to," he added.</p>
Beach n RVs also took a look a state of the art $2.5 million Featherlite luxury coach at the company's Suffolk, Virginia based headquarters. Built on a 45 foot long Prevost chassis, Featherlite's mega RV masterpieces not only provide all the comforts of home (and more) but they also sport an electronic control panel that astronauts on the International Space Station would be proud of.</p>
For those operating on a more modest budget the Travel Channel recommended Camp Gulf on the Florida coast where RVers can literally overnight camp on the beach. However, whilst that small piece of beachside real estate is considerably cheaper than a spot at the Heritage Motor Coach resort it will still run you $94 per night. Ride the Wild Surf Vintage Trailer Rally in Newport Beach, CA, is a relative newcomer to the list of North American RV shows and rallies. Staged at the Newport Dunes in October 2012, the show boasted a collection of over fifty vintage trailers from all over the United States. A mecca for tin can tourists this two year old show featured a variety of rigs from yesteryear including Shastas, Airstreams and Aljoas.</p>
The show's producers also headed to Pismo Beach in California in a Unicat TerraCross overland expedition vehicle, visited Ocean City in Maryland for an RV show, stayed in a renovated Airstream travel trailer at the StarLux hotel in Wildwood, New Jersey and opted for some remote beach camping on the outer banks of North Carolina in a classic teardrop travel trailer manufactured by Silver Tears, the same company that produced the luxury $150K woody for the 2012 Neiman Marcus Christmas catalogue.</p>
